The Magnuson TVS2300 ‘Hot Rod’ kit for LS3 based engine applications is designed for all GM engines with rectangular port LS3 heads. Designed to work with popular Camaro and Truck accessory drive systems, this supercharger is geared towards owners of LS engine swap projects that desire performance and durability on a tighter budget! The Hot Rod TVS2300 can support up to 800 HP with an appropriately built engine.
The Magnuson TVS2300 Supercharger, operating with a 3.9" (99mm) pulley (sold separately) on a 6.0L LS, generates a conservative 6 psi of boost. This results in power gains of approximately 120 horsepower and 120 foot-pounds of torque at the rear wheels, without any additional modifications.
The Supercharger's large liquid-to-air intercooler keeps your Intake Air Temperatures in check, providing consistent and repeatable performance. When combined with one of our separately available Magnuson universal cooling systems, you have a supercharger system with IATs that are typically only 20-40 degrees (Fahrenheit) over the ambient temperature. The Supercharger features a vacuum operated bypass system allowing air to bypass the supercharger and the rotors to “free-spin" under light engine loads. While in "free-spin," the supercharger uses less than a third of a horsepower allowing your supercharged vehicle to maintain stock-like drivability and fuel economy - giving you a package that delivers power without compromise.
Magnuson’s TVS2300 supercharger utilizes EATON’s latest 6th Generation supercharger rotor technology found in such industry leading performance vehicles as the Corvette ZR-1, the Cadillac CTS-V, and the Mustang GT500. These Twin Vortices Series Superchargers feature a pair of four-lobe, high-helix rotors with 160-degrees of overall twist that are housed in Magnuson’s patented high-flow housing. This highly efficient package requires less power to drive, delivers cooler discharge temperatures, and is much quieter than many of its competitors. These superchargers are all manufactured in our TS16949 certified facility – the highest ISO OEM quality certification standard in the market.
Available separately, the Radix Max Tensioner assembly will make it easy to incorporate the factory truck drive accessories and the Hot Rod 2300 supercharger into a single beltline.

What's Inside an LS Supercharger Kit?
Opening an LS supercharger kit is akin to discovering a treasure chest full of gadgets that will enhance your car's speed and strength. Among these are:
- The supercharger unit: Responsible for compressing and pushing more air into the engine.
- Intercooler: Acts as a mini AC unit for the fueled air entering the engine, cooling down the air from the supercharger, thereby optimizing your engine's performance.
- Fuel injectors: Ensure that just the right amount of fuel is sprayed into each cylinder for perfect combustion.
- Other necessary components: Depending on the specific kit, you may find extra parts needed for smooth operation.
Consider your car as a superstar runner and the LS supercharger kit as their personal trainer. It brings out the best in your car’s performance, elevating its speed, strength, and efficiency.
In essence, these kits transform your family sedan into a high-performance sports car, enhancing something good and making it even better—that’s what makes LS supercharger kits so exceptional.
Boosting Performance with LS Supercharger Kits
Installing an LS supercharger kit is like adding a secret ingredient to an already delicious recipe. It has the ability to take your vehicle's performance to the next level, making it more powerful and thrilling to drive. But how does it work, and what kind of benefits can you expect from it? Let's explore further.
When you install a supercharger kit on your vehicle, you're essentially helping the engine breathe better. The supercharger compresses the air before it enters the engine, allowing more oxygen to be present during combustion. This increased oxygen supply leads to improved horsepower and torque, resulting in more muscle under the hood. It's like giving your vehicle an energy boost, allowing it to unleash exhilarating acceleration and an enhanced overall driving experience.
Consider this: It's akin to drinking a cup of coffee before a workout. You're providing your body with a jolt of energy, enabling you to push harder and perform at peak levels.
Imagine navigating through winding roads with the confidence of knowing that when you press down on the throttle, your vehicle responds with an electrifying surge of power. That's the kind of thrill that an LS supercharger kit can bring to your driving experience.
What's more, with improved horsepower and torque, towing heavy loads or overtaking on highways becomes effortless. For those who love track days or spirited driving, the added power and responsiveness from the supercharger elevate the driving experience to new heights.
Now that we understand how an LS supercharger kit can enhance your vehicle's performance, let's discuss how to install one yourself.
Essentials of Supercharger Kit Installation
Installing a supercharger kit is like giving your car a shot of adrenaline. However, before this can happen, there are key steps that need to be taken to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Engine Preparation
Think of it as preparing the stage for a big performance. Your engine needs to be in top-notch shape before the supercharger is introduced. This means checking for any leaks, worn-out components, or malfunctions. It's also crucial to ensure that all routine maintenance tasks like oil changes and filter replacements are up to date. The stress and strain that come with increased power can uncover hidden issues, making this step one of the most important ones in the whole process.
Component Placement
The right placement and secure mounting of the supercharger, intercooler, and other components play a critical role in ensuring efficient airflow and cooling during operation.
Visualizing this better:
Component | Importance |
Supercharger | Supplies compressed air to the engine |
Intercooler | Cools the compressed air for added density |
Securing them properly is key to maintaining performance without compromising reliability.
Tuning and Calibration
Now that your engine is ready and the components are precisely placed, it's time to ensure that everything works together seamlessly. After installation, the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) must be tuned and calibrated.
Just like getting a tailor-made suit adjusted for a perfect fit, tuning and calibrating the ECU accommodates the increased airflow and fuel requirements introduced by the supercharger. This optimizes performance while also ensuring engine reliability. Without this step, you're essentially introducing a new performer on stage without giving them any guidance or cues!
By understanding these essential elements, you're setting yourself up for success as you work towards achieving maximum performance from your vehicle.
Now that we've laid down the foundation for supercharger kit installation, it's time to explore the best manufactured LS supercharger kits available on the market.

Measuring the Result: Power and Performance
So, you've got your LS supercharger kit all set up and ready to go. But how do you know if it's really making a difference? That's where measuring power and performance comes in. It's akin to taking your vehicle's vitals to assess its well-being. The process that provides these vital signs is known as dyno testing.
Dyno Testing
If you've never heard of dyno testing before, think of it as a type of scientific checkup for your vehicle. When the car is placed on a dyno, it's similar to going to the doctor and getting hooked up to machines that measure everything from heart rate to blood pressure—the only difference being that for a car, it measures things like horsepower and torque.
During dyno testing, the vehicle is situated on a specialized machine called a dynamometer or "dyno" for short. The dyno simulates different road conditions and allows technicians to measure the engine output under various loads. It provides precise data on how much power the engine produces, helping determine the impact of the supercharger on your vehicle's overall performance.
The key metrics measured during dyno testing are horsepower and torque gains. Horsepower reflects your vehicle's strength, while torque indicates how fast it can accelerate.
By tracking these numbers before and after installing the supercharger, you can see exactly what kind of boost your LS supercharger kit has given your vehicle—turning those abstract promises of more power and performance into real, tangible results.
